A couple of months ago I ticked Number One off my bucket list. Husband in tow, I finally made it to New York.
It’s a trip I’d been putting off for literally decades. I’ve been fascinated by NYC for as long as I can remember (Seinfeld, SATC and Friends have a lot to answer for!)
I had all the excuses to not go this year:
In the end, we did it all. Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Times Square, Broadway Shows, MoMa, The Met, The Lower East Side and my teen idol Billy Joel in glorious concert at Madison Square Garden. And much more.
It was the trip of a lifetime – I just can’t believe I put it off for so long.
So many of my clients tell me they’ve avoided aiming for their business goals (presenting at meetings, networking with English speakers, going for that VP role..) simply because of their lack of confidence in their English.
Now that I’m back from my long-postponed Big Apple trip, my advice to anyone in this position is – Don’t Wait! Give yourself the Business English tools now to reach for the stars – you won’t look back.
Ps. for next time – the Guggenheim or the Whitney??
