So you’re presenting tomorrow to a group of foreign investors.
Content – check.

Q & A – you’re ready.
But are you ready to actually ENGAGE these people? Will they stay with you until the final slide, and then want to explore Next Steps?
On the Big Day – regardless of how brilliant your product is – you need to be able to deliver that message with impact.
Four quick tips which can make all the difference:
- Voice Modulation – the last thing you want is to sound like a robot. Avoid the monotone, and try to modulate your voice where relevant. For example, when stating an achievement, your voice should go up to reflect excitement and enthusiasm:
“Last quarter, we signed with SIX (voice louder / higher) new European clients.”
- The Pause – a super-effective trick to keep those investors engaged, is the pause: it’s pure drama, gives your big points time to “sink in”, and makes your audience curious to hear what’s next.
“Our tool helps you detect bugs faster – (PAUSE) – ten times faster – than the other tools on the market.”
- Correct pronunciation – don’t underestimate the value of this. Check in with an English-speaking colleague / microphone feature of an online dictionary to ensure you get it right.
If your audience misunderstands (or can’t understand) your message due to poor pronunciation, you’ve lost them well before “The End”.
- Practice – in front of the mirror / your colleagues / your cat. It doesn’t matter.
Just practice every spare second.
Give these tips a go and watch those Next Steps happen.
